I’m Nicole and I created Radical Alchemy to bring plant magic and intuitive healing into your life! I adore making rad natural versions of products and foods that we all love, with a bit of magic added in. I use lots of ways to transform plants into magic and generally kickstart healing: herbalism, cooking, energetic work, flower essences, and divination. If you’re interested in exploring any of these things, you’re definitely in the right place! Head on over to my blog to see my recipes and thoughts on these subjects.
I love learning and I’m always exploring new ways to develop my healing skills even further. The spiritual side of things is just as important to me as the physical side and I try to work with both aspects to find balance. I’ve done all sorts of programs that help form the foundation I work from (you can see my certificates on my Credentials page):
- The Herbal Academy: Introductory, Intermediate & Entrepreneur programs
- Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine: Herbal Medicine Making & Herbal Immersion programs
- Academy of Culinary Nutrition: Culinary Nutrition program & Fundamentals of Fermentation
- Reiki Levels 1-3, with training in additional styles
- The Sisters Enchanted: Chakra Magic program
- One Willow Apothecaries: Intuitive Plant Medicine program
I’m especially interested in the intuitive aspects of herbalism, as well as mixing herbalism with cooking. I’m as passionate about food as I am about herbalism! I’ve been a vegetarian since 2002 and plant-based since 2012. I also went gluten-free around that time on the recommendation of a specialist. It’s been quite the journey and I know first-hand the powerful effect food can have on health and healing!
For my more mainstream education:
- Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto
- Library Technician Diploma from Mohawk College
If you’re looking for more herbalism content, I make regular contributions at One World Herbal Community so be sure to check it out! You can view my author profile and all the posts I’ve done here! I regularly contribute recipe roundups featuring specific herbs to help inspire us with ideas on how to use the herbs more.
On a personal note, I love spending my time walking outside, crafting, playing video games, or curled up with a good book. Outlander, The Mists of Avalon, and World of Warcraft all contributed to me taking the leap into pursusing herbalism in real life! A bit nerdy, I know 😉 Ancestor research and working on my family tree is something I love doing and once I get going, it’s hard to stop. I love the feeling of finally finding answers or solving a mystery.
